On Thursday, 19th March, members of the Cookery Club embarked on an educational visit to the Westwood Hotel, aimed at giving students practical exposure to the hospitality industry while enhancing their culinary skills.

During the visit, students toured several key areas of the hotel, including the reception, garden, conference facilities, guest rooms, kitchen, and bakery. This provided them with a clear understanding of the day-to-day operations within a professional hotel environment.

A highlight of the trip was a hands-on baking session, where students were guided through the preparation of marble and vanilla cakes. This activity allowed them to apply their classroom learning in a real-world setting and build confidence in their baking abilities.

The students also spent time exploring the hotel garden, appreciating the variety of plants and flowers. In addition, they enjoyed some recreational time in the bouncing castle, adding a relaxed and enjoyable element to the day.

Lunch was served following the activities, offering students further insight into hospitality service in practice.

Throughout the visit, students were guided by Mr. George, who provided detailed explanations and ensured a smooth learning experience. The trip was organised by Ms. Mercy, the Cookery Club Coordinator, whose efforts contributed to the success of the day.

Overall, the visit was both educational and enjoyable, providing valuable insight into cookery and the hospitality industry.
