On 23/05/2025 (Friday), We had the privilege of hosting a life-changing session led by representatives from Mosaic Health, a dedicated social enterprise organization that champions community health and education. In partnership with Rafikistry TLC and Pathways, they delivered comprehensive menstrual health education tailored for both our female and male students.
About Mosaic Health & Partners
Mosaic Health works to empower communities with health knowledge and sustainable access to hygiene solutions. Together with Rafikistry TLC, which manages pad logistics, and Pathways, an organization focused on inclusive health education, they brought a holistic experience to our school. Rafikistry TLC also plays a vital role in ensuring menstrual products are accessible—earning a portion from each pad sale and delivering custom orders monthly or termly within a week.
Girls’ Session: Understanding the Menstrual Journey
The girls’ session was led by Mosaic Health together with Rafikistry, who created a safe, engaging, and educational space for open discussion. The session covered:
Menstrual Health Basics: What menstruation is, understanding the 28-day cycle, and how to track periods using the provided Period Tracker.
Cycle Stages Explained Using Beads:
🔴 Red – Start of the period
🔵 Blue – Menstruation
🌸 Pink – Follicular phase
⚪ White – Ovulation
💜 Purple – Luteal phase

• Dispelling Myths & Taboos: Tackling common misconceptions and cultural taboos around menstruation.
• Practical Demonstrations: How to properly use sanitary pads and tampons, dispose of them safely, and maintain menstrual hygiene.
• Self-care During Periods: Addressing abnormal pains, emotional changes, and how to manage discomfort effectively.
• Every student received a Period Purse—a thoughtful kit containing sanitary pads, tampons, hand wipes, a stain remover, painkillers, a disposal bag, and a helpful menstrual health pamphlet for future reference.

Boys’ Session: Empathy & Awareness
• Simultaneously, the boys participated in a dynamic and insightful session led by Pathways in partnership with Mosaic Health. This session emphasized:
• Understanding Menstruation: Educating boys on the biological process, signs and symptoms during different stages of the menstrual cycle.
• Promoting Empathy: Encouraging boys to support, respect, and understand girls during their menstrual periods.
• Practical Knowledge: Teaching them how to handle pads and how to be discreet, sensitive, and supportive when someone around them is menstruating.
These interactive sessions helped break down gender-based barriers and fostered an environment of understanding and respect.
Impact & Appreciation
The sessions were vibrant, informative, and deeply transformative. Our students not only gained practical skills but also developed a stronger sense of confidence and empathy. The unique, hands-on learning approach ensured that the information was not only heard—but truly understood.
We deeply thank our visionary directors; whose steadfast dedication continues to transform ideas into meaningful experiences. Their unwavering belief in student wellness, equity, and growth opens doors to opportunities that shape both minds and hearts. Because of their leadership, every initiative — like this one —becomes a stepping stone toward a brighter, more empowered future.
A huge thank you to Mosaic Health, Rafikistry TLC, and Pathways for organizing such an incredible, empowering experience for our learners. We are truly grateful for this positive, educational, and life-changing initiative.
