There is a special kind of magic that fills a school when children arrive wrapped in soft pajamas, hearts open, smiles bright, and spirits ready for a day of joy. Our much-loved Pajama Day brought with it cozy moments, festive learning, and a strong sense of togetherness that flowed through every classroom.
From Kindergarten through Year 13, Pajama Day unfolded as a heartwarming journey of cozy learning and festive joy. Children shared potluck breakfasts, sang cheerful holiday songs, enjoyed bedtime stories and Christmas movies, danced, played interactive games, and expressed their creativity through festive crafts. Classrooms transformed into warm, family-like spaces filled with laughter, music, storytelling, and imagination, creating lasting memories of comfort, connection, and celebration across the school.
What made this day truly meaningful, however, was its purpose beyond the classroom. Pajama Day became a powerful act of kindness, with students wearing their nightwear while contributing towards the term’s fundraising project—to support stray and abandoned cats and dogs. The funds collected (amounting to 40,000ksh) were used to organise a special feeding party at Strayville Animal Rescue Centre, ensuring vulnerable animals received nourishing meals, care, warmth, and dignity. For many of these rescued cats and dogs, this support meant comfort, reassurance, and the knowledge that they have not been forgotten.
The impact continues through the incredible work of Strayville Animal Rescue, whose responsible adoption programme ensures long-term animal welfare. Adoption fees are carefully structured to sustain ongoing care: kittens are adopted at KES 1,500, already neutered cats at KES 3,000, and dogs at KES 5,000. Every shilling goes directly towards neutering other animals in need, providing medical treatment, daily feeding, and essential support—helping to reduce overpopulation and protect more lives.
To ensure each animal’s lasting safety and wellbeing, Strayville Animal Rescue conducts follow-ups for at least six months after adoption, closely monitoring how each rescued animal settles into its new home. This is compassion with accountability, where kindness shown today creates healthier, safer futures tomorrow.
What began as a joyful school celebration became a meaningful reminder that even the simplest initiatives can make a powerful difference.
Thank you to our students, families, and staff for transforming Pajama Day into an experience rooted not only in joy and learning, but in empathy, responsibility, and hope for animals who need it most. 💙
