On 1st November 2025, Millennium Global International School’s Table Tennis Club of 10 members embarked on a friendly sporting engagement with Makini School, an event designed to strengthen inter-school relations, cultivate sportsmanship, and provide our players with invaluable competitive exposure.

The team departed early in high spirits, arriving at Makini precisely at 8:45 a.m., where we were met with warmth and professionalism by the host institution’s sports department led by Mr. Peter M and the table tennis host team.

The opening moments were marked by cordial introductions and a brief exchange between the two teams and coaches, setting a tone of mutual respect and camaraderie. The hosting school extended thoughtful hospitality, ensuring that all participants felt welcomed and at ease before the commencement of matches.

The day’s fixtures began shortly thereafter in Makini’s sports hall, which provided an ideal atmosphere for both competition and concentration – thanks to the rainy morning. The matches quickly evolved into captivating displays of skill, precision, and endurance. Our players exhibited exceptional agility, strategic foresight, and technical finesse, countering every serve and spin with admirable composure. The rallies were fast-paced, yet executed with grace and courtesy—hallmarks of true sportsmanship and mastery of the game.

Behold the results! Aren’t our students amazing! Charis, Liam, Ivan, and Ryan won all their matches acing 2:0. Chad, Nathan lost only once in their 8 matches. Muhammad lost 3 and won 5. A learning curve for our upcoming champion Calvin who won one set.

What stood out the most, was the spirit of the competition. Both schools demonstrated an admirable balance between determination and respect, transforming the event into more than a contest—it became a dialogue of discipline and shared passion. The Makini players, equally skilled and courteous, challenged our team to rise to their finest form. We, the coaches, responded with rapt attention and generous applause, contributing to an atmosphere of collective enthusiasm characterized by unwavering concentration and spirited play. Coaches on both sides offered insightful guidance, nurturing a learning environment that valued growth as much as victory. It was evident that every serve, return, and rally was underpinned by discipline, teamwork, and mutual encouragement.

The event ended at 1:50pm. The sports coordinators from both schools extended words of appreciation, acknowledging the players’ exemplary conduct and technical prowess.

At 2:05 p.m., our delegation departed from Makini School, filled with gratitude, satisfaction, and renewed motivation. The outing was not merely a sporting excursion—it was a holistic educational experience that reinforced essential values such as perseverance, humility, collaboration, and integrity.

In retrospect, the visit to Makini School stands as a resounding success—one that celebrated the unifying power of sport and underscored the beauty of competition conducted in the true spirit of respect. The lessons learned both on and off the table will undoubtedly continue to inspire our players in their pursuit of excellence.
