23 September 2026 | Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands

There are moments that make you pause, look back at the journey, and feel proud of how far you have come. For Millennium Global International School (MGIS), 23 September 2026 was one of those moments.

The school was honoured with the Outstanding School Awardat the East Africa Leadership Awards 2026, held at the Hyatt Regency Nairobi Westlands. The award was received on behalf of MGIS by Ms. Stephanie Malika and Ms. Laura.

The ceremony brought together leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and organisations from different sectors for a day of meaningful conversations, networking and celebration. The atmosphere was vibrant, with guests coming together to share ideas, experiences and reflections on what leadership looks like in a changing world.

The occasion was graced by Hon. Senator Dr. Isaac Mwaura, CBS, Head of Diversity, Inclusion and Disability Rights in the Executive Office of the President of Kenya. His presence added an important dimension to the day's conversations around inclusion, diversity and responsible leadership.

The programme featured thought-provoking panel discussions, including “The Intelligent Marketer: Redefining Strategy in the AI Era,” which explored the changing role of technology and artificial intelligence in business and marketing.

Another engaging conversation, “Beyond the Seat at the Table: Women Shaping AI and Workforce Strategy,” brought together inspiring women leaders to share their experiences and perspectives on leadership, technology and the future of work.

Guests also explored the power of personal branding through the session “Bank Your Personal Brand – From Invisible to Authoritative,” which highlighted the importance of developing an authentic professional identity and making an impact in today's world.

But for MGIS, the most memorable part of the day came when the school was recognised as the Outstanding School Award recipient.

The recognition was dedicated to God Almighty, our Directors and the entire MGIS community - our teachers, staff, students, parents and everyone who continues to contribute to the growth of the school. It was a moment that reflected the collective effort behind what happens every day within our school community.

The award also felt especially meaningful because of the event's emphasis on humanity, a value that is deeply connected to the spirit of MGIS.

At Millennium, we believe education goes beyond what happens in the classroom. We want our students to grow into people who understand the importance of humanity, ethics, responsibility and compassion.

This was also a vision and wish of our late Director Mrs.Kassam (God rest her soul), and it is a legacy we are proud to carry forward.

We believe that change starts with children.

When children are given the right values, encouraged to think boldly and taught to care about the world around them, they can grow into the leaders who shape a better tomorrow.

The day concluded with a networking lunch, giving guests an opportunity to connect, share experiences and continue the conversations sparked throughout the event.

For MGIS, the Kenya Leadership Awards 2026 was not simply about receiving an award. It was a celebration of our journey, our people and the values that continue to guide us.

We are grateful for the recognition, proud of our MGIS community, and excited about the future we are helping to shape, one child at a time.
